Oh Carp... and Tuna too

with interesting news
and interesting lives
Well sort of.
Couple of points to make here. Number one, I'm online at my granny's house. (woo, broadband!!) To those who're experiencing a strange sense of deja vu, that's because, yes, I can't get online at home again.
That brings about point number two, the server has fucked itself.
I mean, really fucked itself. The power suply blew, which blew the motherboard, which in turn fried the chip, which means no net access till they all get replaced.
Which brings about point number three, that'll be Tuesday at the very earliest, but quite probably not until next week some time.
Point four, I'm not a happy camper, though admittedly it does leave me plenty of time to get on and do other things I've been meaning to take care of. Defragging my HD, for example.
I suppose it could have come at a worse time, at least things are moderately quiet, and I'll still be able to check my mail and hopefully keep on top of things from granny's house, just no messenger contact so if you have something to say, please mail me with it otherwise you'll get a reply in about... ohh... a week or so.
Also could be worse, mum was thinking that now was a good time to scrap the server and get the cable installed and, while I'm all for that, that'll be like... a month at least before they come round and wire us up, and while I don't mind a few days of visiting my granny for the sole purpose of hogging her PC, I'm not sure I could quite manage that long without going stark staring bonkers.
I have things to do, places to be, people to chat to, smut to read... and there ain't no way I'm doing that at my granny's house. *squick*
Eh, so that's it.
Oh, but the freezer's started working again. I don't get it. It's like it stopped working purely for the purpose of melting my damned strawberry cheesecake ice cream and that's it.
Evidently technology hates me.
I guess I should get going before granny tries to feed me or something. I'll try and get back tomorrow though, because this exemplifies the one major drawback of having most of your social life as virtual. The second the connection goes down it's like being slapped with a restraining order.
So that's like, a not-very-subtle way to cajole people to mail me, because I'm LONELY over here... *insert pathetic puppy-dog pouting*
Now all I have to do is remember my EZboard login details so I can check my message boards... That's the other big disadvantage about this computer (aside from the truly humungous screen resolution for mostly-blind old people)... it doesn't leave me automatically logged in all over the place. I have to actually try and remember my passwords *cough, 4th time lucky logging in here, cough*
