Maternal has an old school friend visiting. I think technically he's some distant relation of the not-seen-for-30ish-years variety. So as I am both massively uninterested and also not particularly good at small talk I'll likely be upstairs a lot, staying out of the way.
On that score though, I think my verbal constpiation writer's block broke yesterday... with a rampant case of writer's galloping shits. I hammered out 14 pages of genfic I had no intention of writing, and I still don't know how that happened. Now though I'm basically just left with an AWFUL lot of editing. And wandering tenses. Damnit self, the fic's either past OR present tense, just choose one and stick with it! It does not work well when you have both in the same sentence. *facepalm*
I'm gonna' be needing more coffee. And possibly a mute button for the dog. He'd been lovely and quiet since going to the vet, now his eye drops have cleared up the gunk and he's back to barking at leaves and twigs and ants and soil and people who breathe too loudly and...
