(no subject)

Uurgh. Tomrrow I have to get up insane early to do a thing and meet a guy about a thing and drive the maternal to work and then house-sit for someone while waiting for a BT engineer... and my hands smell of tuna (but not for dirty reasons, get your minds out of the gutter you perverted bastards.)


I am so sleepy right now. I'm supposed to be swimming shortly. I suspect it'll be more like vaguely-apathetic-floating, actually. Also the weather's crap.


Oh, and mum bought a new cooker. It's being delivered in a week or so. It's slightly smaller than the current one but as the current one is approximately the size of a blue whale I doubt it'll matter much. Though it does mean I'm going to lose my handy cake-tin storage drawer as it doesn't have one of those, but it does have more hobs. So.

*shrugs*

Of course the new cooker happened in place of the boiler replacement but the maternal decreed we could continue to live without heating for another month or so quite happily, but living without a cooker was going to prove problematic. I suspect she is right.

Tinker Tailor Review

My review of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is up. You can read it HERE. And I now realise I totally forgot to mention Roger Lloyd-Pack, which I had thoroughly intended to do because he never gets mentioned with the big names even though he’s in it more than John Hurt. Which is a shame because he’s also very, very good in it, and it’s really nice to see him do something straight and entirely different from the comedy characters he’s famous for.

So if you could mentally paste that in as well… there’s always something I forget to add.


Also, and I'll add it here because I'm shallow as a puddle in a dry ditch in mid-August: Cumberbatch is fucking pretty in it. And it's a bit wrong that he wears those 70s suits quite so very, very well.
