May. 11th, 2011 12:55 pmSarah's coming over today I think. I also have a fic to post, but there's a couple of paragraphs really bugging me. Can't quite get the flow right. Literally, two paragraphs. Not even two paragraphs together, just two individual ones at different points. I keep having to stop and do something else cause you know after a while when you keep re-reading something it ceases to lose all meaning and that's really not helpful when trying to work out why the rhythm's gone all skew.
It's gotta' read smooooooooth... Or at least it does in my head anyway.
That's possibly the most pretentious thing I've ever said about writing fic. But it's true, you know. Good fluid writing keeps pulling you through, keeps the prose moving, and it all slides down easy. A wonky paragraph is like the lump in your custard. Still edible, but it don't half throw you off when you come across it unexpectedly.
