I think I might have caught [livejournal.com profile] heartandcore's cold... or perhaps it's one of my own creation, I wouldn't like to guess. (Or it is, perhaps, that one that's been brewing and defeated repeatedly for the past couple of weeks, returning this time with reinforcements.)
Probably my own fault. I've been enjoying a recent bout of pseudo-insomnia since around Thursday night (I am tired and I sleep, but not deeply and like I'm constantly skimming the surface of consciousness.) Plus I got both cold and incredibly wet on Saturday so I've probably set myself up for something grizzly and viral to finally get a foothold.
Though if anyone could be so kind as to knock me out properly for a few nights it would probably be appreciated.

That aside, [livejournal.com profile] angelsnow headed home this evening after gamely assisting with us getting monumentally lost trying to drive to Nottingham. Well, that's not true. We found Nottingham without problem, it was getting into or near to any kind of parking structure that caused the problems. (Mental note- this is why I usually take the train. It would be good to remember this in future.)
Still, we hit Hotel Chocolat, and [livejournal.com profile] evilgeniuslady and [livejournal.com profile] heartandcore assisted the ailing economy by buying half of HMV while we were there.
I myself got some more Lush bubble bars (Limited edition christmas scents are back! WOOT!) and a stupidly expensive HC advent calendar, and a new Thundercats t-shirt to replace the one that's about an inch from disintegrating in the wash.

And that's about all I can think of at the moment. I shared with them some of the crack that was Robin Hood, and some of the pretty that is Mr A, and tomorrow morning I have to pack them off on a train back down to Heathrow.

Then, perhaps, I will think about taking a few naps to see if I can work on this sleep deficit...

Well, everyone has departed (dropped [livejournal.com profile] heartandcore and [livejournal.com profile] evilgeniuslady off at the station this morning) and it just remains to pick up the guest beds and maybe sling on some laundry. (Oh, and one of you left your Lush BBSeaweed behind. I could mail it on but I think it was probably meant to be kept chilled? Isn't it one of their fresh facemasks? Eh, anyway, give me a yell if you want it back.)

Oh, and Ayo WAS right. The S2 Robin Hood box-set was out already. I got mine this morning.
Huh. Bad, unobservant fangirl. Still, at least I finally get to watch the commentaries. :D

I also made an official start on the annual christmas shopping slog. I got the Beany and the Bug cute fleecy blankies for their new rooms when they finally get them. A Thomas one for the Beany and a Pepa Pig one for teh Bug. I'm assuming the Beany doesn't already have the Thomas one, but then again you can never have too many fuzzy fleecy blankies when the weather's this craptastic.

Now I just have to go and retrieve the last few days worth of downloaded thingumies off the laptop and then I think... perhaps a nap.

And some decongestants.

I apologise if I'm missing anything wildly exciting online at the moment but I'm skimming everything rather than actually reading right now, due to the proliferation of political enthusiasm everywhere I seem to click.

Because, yes, it's US election day. And NO, I haven't voted. This is mostly because I'm not American and no amount of well-intentioned commentaries about today's importance will change that.
I would normally be interested (your politics have a tendancy to impact our politics which is not assisting with that frustrating sense of detatchment from the process, just FYI) but, yeah, my cold's latched on for definite now and I think I'm just going to retreat until you've all come to some sort of decision and we can finally get on with other things again.

Oooh, Gene Hunt's roughing up the Hamster from Top Gear on the front of the Radio Times this week.

Aww, Hammond had to stand on a suitcase cause he's so short...

Faaaaar more interesting than any election news, Virgin Cable will be getting the basic Sky channels back on the 13th November.

I've kind of missed Sky1, but at least after a year's missed viewing I will no longer be even slightly tempted to bother watching any more Lost. (And perhaps if they can now alternate Sky News with BBCNews24, the parentals stand less chance of burning the BBC news ticker into the botom of the plasma screen.)
