Fascinating reading in an interesting interview Hugh did with
Men's Journal. Punched in the nuts, chicken on the nightstand, and surely being a preacher is all a big performance anyway?
It reasserts my conviction that the Jackmans would be a lot of fun to hang out with, but they are without doubt completely nuts.
*hearts them*
Sooooooooooooo...
Yeah, today was quite long and I am quite tired and my mother keeps dragging me downstairs because she can't work the DVD player and is trying to play 'music that stimulates alpha brainwaves' at the Bug & Bean.
It's supposed to soothe them and lull them towards sleep. IMHO it's boring enough to put anyone into a coma but there you go, my opinion doesn't count, I just know how to put disks into the DVD player and press that button with the triangle on it marked 'play'.
It's complicated stuff, this technology.
Still, I had a day in town, I finally picked up some new postage tubes, we took the Beany to the playground, and the town museum, and the soft-play cafe, and he was (for the most part) quite well behaved.
Though some little snot from the local pre-school on a field trip did kick the Bug while she was toddling in the sandpit. I think Kat was about a quarter inch from kicking the crap out of him in return. Children are, on the most part, vile beasties but then I think most of you currently reading this are already more than aware of that fact.
Such things aside it was a nice enough day. I think I've done that thing to my foot again though. Every now and then it just feels like something's pulled slightly out of alignment inside it and hurts like a bugger down the outside if I walk on it too much. I actually think I did it the better part of a week ago but as I've not been out much the past few days it's not been such an issue.
Unrelatedly, I'm not doing chibi christmas cards this year, I'm doing non-chibi cards, and I need to start on them sooner rather than later. I have a cunning plan but I need to swing by the stationary shops and get some nice card bases this year. After the total non-event that was last x-mas (everyone had flu and felt like utter crap) I'm quite looking forward to this year's autumn/winter season. Though I can't hang out with C&R on Halloween like usual cause Kat organised the boy's birthday thing on the same day *d'oh!* but still, there's always bonfire night.
This morning when I got up it was gloriously autumnal weather as well. Just getting chilly enough to be wearing long sleeves and contemplating bringing out those coats and scarves but juuuuust not quite. Bright and dry, Light sweater weather. Perfect.
