My annoyance, let me show you it. The Hood season2 box-set comes out in Australia today. Comes out in the US at the end of July. Comes out here, the country that produced, wrote, filmed and originally broadcast it... ohh, maybe October, we dunno yet, they haven't decided.
I'm irked. I'd get the Aussie import but it'd be just my luck if the UK edition then came out with extra extras and box-sets are expensive damnit.

*sigh* I should not even be thinking about this right now, I have no money and therefore neither should be an option. And I have all except episode 5 stored on the V+ for re-watching (I don't know what happened to #5, it refuses to play any more, I assume the techno-gremlins ate it.) but *pathetic whine* They don't have commentaries and I like listening to them all babbling innanely on top of each other. (No, really, they're all shit at commentaries, they all talk at once and then go silent at the same time. It's adorkable.)

On the topic of which, I still haven't gotten round to getting that Blue Heelers set with the Hugh-episode on either. I know that it's total crap and I know that I have a bootleg but it's just not the same as having the shiny official release. I really should think about getting that at some point too.

OK, new plan! Someone find me a rich husband who doesn't mind that I don't want a real job or children and spend all my time covered in paint!

OK so... painting wise I've, I think, fixed the funnel to my satisfaction, added a hint of blue to the egg to give it a little shaddow and some dimension so it's not just a big flat white thing (still working on that actually, but it's drying right now) and started painting up the edges of the canvas which I neglected to do at the time given as I was far more interested in getting the face of it right than worrying about the sides.

Which is the very long run-on sentence way of saying I'm waiting for paint to dry again and it's really quite shockingly tedious.

Dear self- What the hell is wrong with you today??!
Christ, I nearly destroyed half the kitchen just making a slice of toast. I think I bumped into/dropped/knocked over/tripped over/trod on or otherwise tried to decimate pretty much everything I came into contact with. *facepalms*

I give in, wrap me in packing peanuts and put me somewhere safe before I break anything important...

Two sides painted, two more to go, I'm still constantly dropping things, it's a miracle I've not damaged anything important yet, and I feel a headache the size of Belgium swooping in over my forehead. This last point is probably in part due to being totally uncaffinated today. It may in fact be contributing to the dropsies as well come to think of it. Bad decision all round then, really. It all adds up to an unfortunately introspective mood spiralling steadily downwards in a fit of self-doubt and increasing negativity. But we shan't talk about that because it isn't actually going to make any difference.


In fic related news, I more or less finished the PWP I was working on and, yes, I went the damn lazy option of re-using that abandoned fic chunk I'd forgotten I'd already used once before. Fortunately the chances of there being enough fandom crossover to make more than a handful of people scratch their heads in deja vu is pretty small.
The bigger post-2x13 AU fic I'm also still slogging my way through.
That's kind of the problem with primarily character-development fic that takes place in a very confined physical area. You have to arc your characer development as a plot and try not to repeat yourself too damn often because it is mostly two people talking with occasional bits thrown in from outside sources. I think it could serialise alright, you don't notice repetative issues as sharply when there's a suitable gap between chapters.
I'm almost all the way through chapter 4 though, after having to stop to gap a big hole in chapter 3. It's a good job I don't post as I write or I'd be so screwed from all the skipping back and re-editing I've done so far.


In other news, there is no other news. I think I need an early night and I may even possibly get one.
