Up early, went to town, bought things I didn't know I needed till I decided I just couldn't possibly live without them, and came home again.

The weather's crap, by the way. Snow flurries and hail. It's too damn cold for Easter.

I have just had the single most glorious thing in the world.

Praline made with macadamia nuts.

Uuuhhhngngngngngngngng... (< ~~ that's the sound a chocolategasm actually makes, by the way.)

Bearing in mind my intense love of the macadamia nut as a delicious salted snack as well as a delight when unsalted and covered in chocolate, this really was as if the humble macadamia had grown up and decided to enter a career in impossibly high-class porn.

But enough about that.
Was in the Works earlier, scouring the super-discounted books (an imposibly dry textbook on the history of silver can be yours for just 10p!) and stumbled over a copy of Madonna's kid's book 'Lotsa de Casha'. I'll say from the outset that I couldn't give a crap about Madonna, the story or the moral that's about as subtle as a brick to the head, but the Rui Paes illustrations were really, really gorgeous. For £2, down from £12.99? Yeah, I bought it just for the pictures. Because no matter how old you are, you are never too old for pre-raphaelite greyhounds and storks dressed as plague doctors cause, you know, they have that long beak. Oh, and monkey buttlers. Because there should always be a monkey in a waistcoat somewhere.

Going to Kat's tomorrow for easter dinner and whatnot. And egg-hunting, if it's not still snowing.
