At least it's Friday...

Looks wet out there this morning, and unappealing. Rather uncondusive to going out and doing things, even if they do need to be done. It's much more suited to curling up somewhere cozy with a good book or a squishy movie (or a good Hugh with some squishy baby oil.)

I'm hungry.

Oh, but I get to go to the city tomorrow so that's not too bad. I have to pester freaky-Dave cause his birthday is like... either two days before or after Hugh's and he gets really cranky around this time of year cause he has a complex about getting old. :P

Uh, anyway. Gotta' go... see the grandmaternal one. Do what I do. Try and get some money. You know the drill.
Some day I really do have to get a proper job. She keeps dropping hints about me coming over weekends too and I'm like, seriously... no fucking way. Dream on, granny-lady, that ain't never gonna' happen.

Home again. Short morning, so it seems.

I'm contemplating going to Morrisons and blowing a chunk of my hard-earned pennies on junk food and chocolate. Or alternatively I could go to the bank and put a chunk of my hard-earned pennies into my checking account so I can actually afford to pay for my car insurance this year...

I have a horrible feeling the junkfood and chocolate is going to win.

I have a deep kind of resentment about paying large sums of money towards intangible things. Doubly so when they're madatory intangible things. It's very irritating. You know, looking at a small piece of paper and thinking "You could have been a nice proportion of my new computer..."

Exception to that of course is when someone totals your car.

And this is why being a grown-up sucks.

Watched X-Men with Kat and her maternal one.

That's about it.

Nice though, I do so like a Wolviefest and it's been a while since I'd seen the first one. It's good to take a moment and return to cannon, just to reasess what you've got and where you're going.

Plus he's a yummy man and it never hurts to stare at one of those for a while.

Have turned on the heating for a bit. Was getting cold down there.

I have just been informed that my mother has somehow managed to get herself locked into the building at work, and now cannot seem to escape.

This amuses me, probably a lot more than it should.

I am however, forced to wonder various things.

First and most notably, I was under the impression she had keys. You would think this would help, but apparently not.

Second, does one actually have to start a fire to legitimately use a fire escape, or can you just re-classify it an 'emergency exit' and arbitrarily declare a state of emergency before opening it?

And Thirdly, should I hereafter consider this a warning as to the dangers of working late and from this day forth make sure to be out of any work-related scenario at least 5 minutes before the end? (Hm... actually, I should make that a half hour, just to be on the safe side...)

AE: It appears she has in fact just managed to get out. Something about roller-shutters on the staircase.
