Less new york new york, more roulette...
May. 1st, 2005 11:00 amYeah I was... semi-organised this morning and then I got given a link to a report about Hugh's Vegas Gig last night and my brain just vanished in a miasma of fangirly screaming.
I want him to tour now so bad it's almost painful. *g*
Yeah... ok I have no idea what I was doing before I got distracted with that so I'm just gonna' go and... finished getting dressed and stuff... or something... Though my brain keeps stalling over One very sultry young lady slinked her way over to the naive out of towner and showed him a thing or two with her dance moves. It was so cute, as she spread his legs apart and careessed his thighs and chest because I am a perv and you know where my mind went with that already.
*wibbles*
I'm not surprised he seagued off into BFO though. They wouldn't have had a huge amount of time to put it all together so it would have been a nice, quick choice as he already had it down pat.
Hugh, get your still-too-skinny-butt back to Europe for the next one or I will be forced to chase you around the globe, mm-kay? And I'm not sure my current lifestyle will support that so I'll wind up living in a cardboard box begging for coins to add to my "I must see Hugh Jackman" fund so I can continue to stalk you... and nobody wants that.

Movies Movies Movies
May. 1st, 2005 07:18 pmSo I saw the Hitchhiker's Guide this afternoon, and I will be honest it was... Not QUITE what I was expecting.
I was already aware that Douglas had changed elements purely for the movie, including the ending and that extra bit in the middle, but the extent to which is was not-really-like-the-book did take me a bit by surprise.
( More, including spoilers )
So after all of that... it is, on its own, a fun movie. not the best movie I've ever sat through, but entertaining enough.
Only thing is of course if you know the books well or the TV series well, or the radio play well then you may well find it frustrating in the extreme due to the lack of things you would otherwise expect to have found.
I reccommend seeing it for the sake of curiosity, and then reading the books and getting hold of a copy of the Beeb adaptations. Though I probably say that having grown up with them as an inherant part of my childhood. I think I could well be biased.
But you should read the books anyway, because they kick ass.
And I've still not forgiven Douglas for dying before he finished Salmon of Doubt, the bastard.
