Feb. 28th, 2005 11:17 amI'm having one of those days where I don't quite feel on top of the situation.
Not that there really is much of a situation, I'm only waiting in for the Gas people to do the annual safety check and for the boy's galvanising company to come pick up this thing that's been on our front yard since Friday... But I'm just having a day where I'd rather curl up and listen to music and do nothing at all rather than have to keep an ear out for our occasionally non-functional doorbell.
Oh and Kat and the boy are going looking for a chicken-guarding dog today... oh and you know I mentioned a 9-month old german shep pup that we were going to get free cause the owners needed a home for it? Then we weren't going to get it actually because they decided they wanted to sell it...?
Well apparently we're getting it after all because people don't want to pay pedigree pooch prices for a pup that's no longer a cutesy little ball of fluff.
So we have a new dog coming on Wednesday... apparently... Pedigree papers and all. O_o
This is unusual for us, we usually get a thoroughly uncertified mutt form the pound.
Only slight issue being of course that the cat seems to have moved in permenantly (We discovered she actually is litter-trained though, so this is a good thing) and while she was *ok* with Roxy (mostly disdainful as long as the pooch was the other side of the gate) we don't know how well she's going to take to the new pup. We don't know how well the new pup will take to her, and we've not yet had both pooch and Kitty at once before.
Well... Kat's had dogs and cats and chickens and parakeets all at once of course but this is slightly new terratory for the majority of the T-family menagerie's critter-wranglers.
We know it's possible, Kat seems to know the proceedure, and we're hoping it will go better than the time we introduced Leo to the previous kitty-who-was-not-actually-ours... (don't ask, it wasn't great) but then Fliss was a slightly-feral psycho!Kitty and Spam is a decidedly domestic snuggle!Kitty so we're hoping it will go ok... hopefully...
Spam will probably be ok with time.
The pooch is currently an unknown factor.
Anyone with experience of introducing puppy to kitty feel free to hurl in sage and wise advice right here and I'll try and keep you posted about how it all goes.
I wanna' curl up and not move just so much right now...
I really hope the boy's ANNOYING-CUSTOMER-OF-DOOOOOOOOM doesn't call and keep me on the phone for an hour again...
