OK, so...

I know a while back someone asked me if I had a bigger photo of the pic I was using for this Thoughtful icon.
Thing is, I can't remember who asked, or when they asked, or, in truth, whether it was actually a question posted in a community somewhere that I'm currently feeling too lazy to crosspost to...

BUT, on the offchance it was one of you all reading my LJ, I do at last have a bigger version. It's got a bit of a watermark on, but nothing hideous that a bit of photoshop couldn't fix, so... yeah...

Been wondering where I saw that damn thumbnail for almost 2 and a half years now... typically it was the most obvious place I forgot to look.

So I have stuff I should probably be doing...

I'm not doing it. I'm also really bored, and the fic I was working on is giving me gyp and taunting me to edit bits out again. Because there's some half-decent dialogue that I quite like but it's pushing the development of something too fast and rendering the whole next part moot because it was already just said... so I either axe a big part I like and have to work out a new way to get from A to B, or I axe a bit of dialogue I like and leave the rest alone.

I think the dialogue's gonna' get the chop, that's usually how it works out. Because I suck with dialogue. Suck like the Dyson. Which is why it seems to have doubled itself up in the first place. *slaps self* Stop making characters deliver long and melodramatic monologues, people do not talk like that!

Aid, Eight, or Either?

So I've been flicking back and forth between the Live8 coverage on Beeb 1&2 and the Live Aid re-run on VH1Classic.

My overwhelming thought?

People don't rock any more, they all fucking whine. You know, like they're too cool to rawk-out, so there's a total lack of showmanship. I'm sure the atmosphere at the actual events is amazing but it doesn't transfer too well onscreen. There's a lot of standing behind mics going on; could so with some strutting.

Every massive concert needs a Freddie Mercury. Somewhere on the lineup, it needs a showman. Am hopin' Robbie's gonna' rock. Also maybe Velvet Revolver...


Also have a killer headache right this moment too so that's rather impairing my enjoyment.

You know... it's a great event aiming to achieve great things, but I guess I like my world-changing through the fuzzy lens of nostalgia. Earlier on you could flick between baby!Bono on VH1C and Current!Bono on BBC1... Baby!Bono was way better to watch, and this makes me sad.


Either that or it's just proof that I'm just hideously out of touch with current music... Which is also a big probability.


They keep showing the Beckhams in the VIP area... Victoria looks especially vapid this afternoon.

You know... Robbie ain't Freddie, but of all the acts at Hyde Park he had by far the best connection with the audience.
If the whole day had been like that it woulda' been a MUCH more exciting concert.

They're doing the CSI theme. They so need Grissom, dusting about with his magic beard and bug collection. That would rock.
